The SolidWorks Viewer is a software tool that allows users to view SolidWorks assemblies, drawings and parts. It supports file types, like SLDPT, SLDASM, SLDDRW, PRT, SLDPRT and DRW. The installation process is straightforward. It doesn't require any configuration although it might take some time. The interface has a structure within a window. Once you open a file you can use features such as zooming in and out, viewing pages , selecting predefined or views rotating model views and examining cutaways using cross section planes. You also have customization options like hiding toolbars and the status bar. Additionally you can adjust page settings to prepare models for printing purposes. Despite its simplicity SolidWorks Viewer has proven to be reliable and stable, during tests; it responds well to commands while consuming system resources. Although it may not have a set of features it effectively fulfills its purpose by providing a user experience that doesn't require prior knowledge of SolidWorks.
