Veyon

Veyon is an open source software solution for computer-supported teaching, training and classroom management. It allows teachers to take control of a classroom or training session, sharing their screen with the students and creating an engaging learning environment.

Veyon lets teachers monitor, control and support all student computers in a classroom from one central application.

Features

Screen Sharing: Veyon allows teachers to share their computer screen with the students, allowing them to easily demonstrate concepts, show examples, and demonstrate skills.

Remote Control: Veyon provides teachers with the ability to remotely control student computers, allowing them to quickly give instructions and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Classroom Management: Veyon shows the screens of all student computers as live thumbnails, allowing teachers to monitor student activity and quickly identify and address any issues that may arise.

Access Control: Veyon uses configurable access control rules that define which users may access which computers, ensuring that only those with permission can connect to the student machines.

Group Management: Veyon lets administrators organize computers into locations such as classrooms, so teachers can quickly switch between rooms and work with a whole class or with selected computers.

Lock Screens: Veyon lets teachers lock all student computers with one click to get the full attention of the class, and unlock them again when the lesson continues.

Messages and Websites: Veyon lets teachers send text messages to students, open websites and start programs on selected computers, and distribute and collect files.

Power and Logon: Veyon can power on computers via Wake-on-LAN, reboot or shut them down, and log users on or off remotely.

Integration: Veyon can import users, groups and computers from LDAP directories such as Active Directory or OpenLDAP, and a commercial add-on connects it to Microsoft Entra ID.

Security: Veyon authenticates connections with key files or with the user's logon credentials, so only authorized teachers can access the student computers.

Support: Veyon is free under the GPLv2 licence and runs on Windows and Linux. Help is available in the documentation and the community forum, and paid add-ons such as screen recording and Internet access control extend it.
