VueScan

VueScan is an easy-to-use program that is designed to replace the standard software that comes with your scanner. The program supports most flatbed scanners, MFPs and film scanners, including models with automatic document feeders. The program first saw the world back in 1998, and today it has more than a million users worldwide. Whether you're looking for advanced scanning features or your scanner manufacturer has stopped supporting your model, the software will help you get the most out of your scanner. The program is compatible with a huge number of scanners - more than 8000 models from 42 manufacturers are supported! But the best way to check if your scanner is supported or not is to just download the free trial and try it - it's very simple, because the program is lightweight and downloads very quickly.

The scanned documents and photos can be saved in several formats - PDF, JPEG and TIFF, and recent versions also add PNG and JPEG-XL. It is also possible to create multi-page PDFs using either regular scanners or scanners with automatic document feed. Most importantly, the OCR system is already built into the program, so there is no need to install separate OCR programs; English, Spanish, German, French and Italian are built in, and more languages are available. However, in the event that the possibilities of this system are not enough for you, we recommend a professional character recognition program such as ABBYY FineReader Professional.

VueScan was designed to be used by beginners and experienced users alike. With Basic options, which are more suitable for beginners, only the essential settings are shown: you press Preview, adjust the crop box and press Scan. Standard and Professional options give access to the advanced features of the program, such as color adjustment, film scanning, color management and raw scan files, which gives you full control over the scanning process. The trial version adds a watermark to scans until you buy a Standard or Professional Edition license.

One main benefit of VueScan is its wide compatibility with over 8000 scanner models, making it a versatile replacement for standard scanner software.
