AMD Radeon RAMDisk is a utility that creates a virtual drive in your computer's RAM for much faster file access.
AMD Radeon RAMDisk is a utility from the developer Advanced Micro Devices Inc., built on Dataram's RAMDisk technology. The program works on PCs based on AMD or Intel processors and requires at least 512 Mb of RAM for correct functioning. Subject to these conditions, AMD Radeon RAMDisk is able to noticeably speed up individual applications that read and write a lot of data by keeping their files in RAM.
The application creates a virtual disk in RAM that performs much faster than a regular hard drive or even an SSD. Such possibilities of the program will be useful to those users who have high requirements to the performance of the personal computer (gamers, designers, engineers etc.). In order to create a RAMDisk, the user must perform a number of sequential actions: load the program, choose the size of the disk to be created (up to 4 GB in the free version, 6 GB with AMD memory installed), optionally set a disk label, drive letter and TEMP directory, and start the new disk. Because RAM is cleared on shutdown, the program can save the disk to an image file at shutdown and load it again at startup. AMD Radeon RAMDisk is no longer developed.
