RAM Disk

SoftPerfect RAM Disk is a program for creating a virtual RAM-disk on a personal computer, where all information is stored in the RAM. It is commercial software with a free, fully featured 30-day trial.

Many of today's PCs (primarily gaming PCs) are equipped with a large amount of RAM, which is most often used inefficiently. RAM is much faster than a physical hard drive and the unused portion of it can be an effective replacement for a slower HDD or SSD when working with temporary files.

SoftPerfect RAM Disk creates one or more virtual disks in the computer's RAM (depending on the amount of memory) to store temporary data, which is displayed in Windows Explorer and other file managers and can be used to store any temporary files.

Using SoftPerfect RAM Disk speeds up work with temporary data by storing it in RAM, a much faster alternative to a physical hard drive.

It can also be used as a repository for short-term data generated by Windows and other applications. Using a fast drive to store this kind of information will protect your computer's hard drive from constant reading and writing of temporary files, which can extend its life. This is especially true for SSDs.

When creating a RAM disk, the user independently sets its basic parameters, chooses the desired size and the type of the disk - a persistent disk with an associated image file that keeps its contents, or a disk to store temporary content (automatically cleared when the computer is shut down). Memory can be allocated on demand and released with TRIM when files are deleted.

Using SoftPerfect RAM Disk, the RAM can be used to store any temporary information on a fast disk and speed up disk-heavy tasks. Current versions support any disk size on 64-bit systems with Intel, AMD and ARM64 processors, run on Windows, macOS and Linux, and include built-in tools for working with disk images.
