Avidemux is a great free video editing software. It is easy to use without the need of any prior knowledge. It is a great tool for trimming, cutting and merging video files. It has basic features like brightness and contrast adjustment. I also like that it has a range of presets for conversion to different formats. It is fast and user-friendly and I appreciate that it is open source. It has a decent selection of codecs and also supports subtitle editing. I found the audio editing capabilities to be quite basic for my needs.

The software is simple and easy to use, but lacks some advanced features. The interface is clean and user-friendly, but there are occasional crashes. The video editing tools are basic, but effective for simple editing tasks. The software is free and open-source, which is a plus. The encoding and decoding capabilities are good, but could be improved. The software is a decent option for basic video editing needs.
