Cameyo

Recently, portable versions of programs have been gaining popularity. This is not surprising, because they do not leave unnecessary registry keys, can be run from portable media and do not require installation. Cameyo is an application virtualization tool that turns ordinary Windows programs into such portable virtual apps. Its packager takes a snapshot of the system, captures the changes made by a program's installer and packs them into a single virtual app that runs without installation, and the package editor lets you adjust settings such as the isolation mode.

Cameyo also offered an online library of ready-made virtual apps, such as browsers, system cleaners, graphic editors, archivers and players. In the default data mode, only files saved to the Documents or Desktop folders or to network and removable drives are written there, while other changes stay in the app's isolation repository. The classic packager was free for fewer than 50 users. Google acquired Cameyo in 2024, and it is now a commercial Virtual App Delivery service that streams Windows apps to any device through a web browser.

Cameyo lets you run Windows applications as virtual apps without installing them, keeping the system free of extra files and registry keys.
