D-ViewCam is D-Link's video management software (DCS-100) that turns a Windows computer into a surveillance station for network cameras. It can manage up to 32 cameras at one time!

Once you've added all of your cameras, which the program can discover automatically on the network, you can easily take control of them from your desktop. You can watch cameras individually or in split-screen layouts of up to 36 views in real time. D-ViewCam records video to your hard drive in scheduled, motion-triggered or manual mode, using MJPEG, MPEG-4, H.264 or H.265 compression to keep the file size as small as possible.

To keep everything simple D-ViewCam allows you to map out the location of each camera on a diagram. You can set this up to look similar to your house or other location that you're monitoring. This makes it simple to get a good idea of where any action is happening and for you to follow the action if it moves between locations or cameras.

While watching in real time you can pan the camera around to various things or you can zoom in on something specific, and PTZ cameras also support preset positions and auto-patrol. You can view recorded files directly through D-ViewCam as well. On the recorded file you can also take snapshots easily. D-ViewCam allows you to search your recorded files by video type or with a histogram search, and to convert clips to AVI or ASF files.

D-ViewCam can also be configured with other systems such as smoke detectors, magnetic door sensors, emergency buttons, card readers, and more. When such a device reports an event, D-ViewCam can start recording, send an e-mail notification or sound an audio alert.

D-ViewCam requires Windows 7 SP1, 8 or 10 (Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 are also supported). It is a completely free program, so you can easily set it up with your D-Link cameras to try it out and see how well it will work for your purposes; in some regions D-Link now lists the package as discontinued.

D-ViewCam lets you monitor, record and play back video from up to 32 D-Link network cameras in one application.
