Discord is a voice, video and text communication client that has taken the best and most convenient features from the most famous programs of this kind. First of all, the application will be useful for gamers, as it is designed to use few system resources and not to affect the FPS rate in the game. The basic service is free and has no advertising, while an optional Nitro subscription adds extras such as larger file uploads and higher-quality streaming. It provides stable voice chats with high sound quality, can operate in Push-to-Talk mode, keeps users' IP addresses hidden behind its servers, and also offers a simple and fast process of account creation.

The Discord concept is similar to TeamSpeak. That is, to communicate with other users you need to create a server (it is free and is done in a few clicks), and then invite the necessary users to it. Invited people can talk in voice channels and exchange messages in text channels. The server creator can easily mute individual users, assign roles with permissions, schedule events and so on.

All of the main features are also available in the Discord web version and in the mobile apps for Android and iOS, and desktop versions exist for macOS and Linux as well. The Windows app also has an in-game overlay. In general, it is an excellent replacement for TS, Skype (which Microsoft shut down in 2025) and the discontinued Curse Voice.
