ExamView Test Player

ExamView Test Player (also called ExamView Player) is the student component of the ExamView Assessment Suite, a testing package for teachers that also includes ExamView Test Generator and ExamView Test Manager. Instructors create tests and study guides in Test Generator, often starting from question banks supplied by textbook publishers, and publish them to the school's local area network (LAN). Students then open ExamView Test Player on their computers to take those tests on screen instead of on paper. The Player itself is free and is used together with the ExamView software owned by the school.

ExamView Test Player lets students take teacher-made tests on screen, with the results collected automatically for the teacher.

Benefits

ExamView Test Player is designed to move classroom tests from paper to the computer without extra effort for the teacher. Once a test is published to the network, every student in the class can take it at the same time, and the results are gathered in one place. Test Manager keeps class rosters and collects the performance data automatically, so the teacher can analyze student results and identify areas of concern right after the test instead of grading paper sheets by hand.

ExamView was created by FSCreations and was later distributed by eInstruction and Turning Technologies, which merged with Echo360. Echo360 declared ExamView end of life on June 30, 2024: no more updates, security patches or technical support are provided for any version, and schools are encouraged to move to the web-based EchoExam platform. The Player remains usable in schools that still run LAN-based ExamView tests, while teachers who prefer paper can print the same tests or export them for editing in Word.
