Ghostwriter is a good formatting program which stream-lines large documents. You can write your entire file and then export it to other formats.
It provides a sidebar to outline the document and navigate from one section to another. You can also switch to "Focus" mode to highlight text to change or correct it. Lastly, it has a nice, clean interface without distractive features.
