A great program for designing and testing electronic circuits
Livewire is a great educational program for anybody interested in learning about electricity and circuitry. It allows you to generate a circuit board on your computer and then test it to see if there are any errors in it.
Livewire lets you create fairly complicated systems consisting of switches, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, among hundreds of other available components. Once you've created your system you can simulate running it to see how it performs. If any errors occur you can observe how the system is functioning and what causes the error. Livewire allows you to zoom in up to 1000% so you will be able to get a very clear view of any issues that may be occurring.
This will save you a considerable amount of time and energy since you will be able to create and troubleshoot the entire system in the comfort of your office rather than having to build it in the real world environment where it will be deployed and then possibly having to tear it down or move pieces around depending on the severity of error which may occur.
Livewire comes complete with many tutorials and learning guides so you can get a full understanding of how circuits work and simplify your projects. It even comes with examples of prebuilt circuits which you can adapt to your needs to further simplify the whole process.

Livewire requires Windows XP or later along with 64 MB of RAM and 10 MB available hard disk space. It's a shareware program so it's free to try. A major limitation with the shareware version is that your circuit will start disappearing after only 43 seconds! So you will not be able to build complicated circuits with the shareware version. The full version only costs $39.99 for an individual user and is a great investment for any serious electrician!
