MediaTab is a great tiny program that will tell you full details about any sort of multimedia file you may have on your computer. To launch it all you have to do is right-click on the file and then click on the MediaTab button. This will start the program which will tell you everything you could possibly want to know about the file itself.
MediaTab will give you standard information such as codec, bit rates, and resolutions. All of this information is very helpful because it allows you to find out the quality of the file without having to actually view the file. If you have two versions of the same content you would be able to easily use this in order to determine which version is actually the highest quality and the one that you should keep.
If you're having trouble playing a file that you downloaded MediaTab will be able to confirm that it is, in fact, a media file and will be able to tell you which codec was used to compress the file. Once you have that information you can simply install the proper codec that you were missing and be able to view that file.
If you're a content creator MediaTab will allow you to test the output quality of what you've created. You can make sure that the content you want to be there is fully there in the quality that you were aiming for. It will also confirm that all of your codecs worked properly and the output was successful.
MediaTab is absolutely free. It is available for Windows computers from Windows XP onward in both a 32-bit and 64-bit version. It is also available for Android devices from version 3.0 up. It is currently available in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Romanian languages with more languages being developed!
MediaTab saves your computer processing time and general hardware use by quickly pulling up information regarding your multimedia files.
