PaperScan is an easy-to-use yet powerful program for scanning a variety of paper documents. Thanks to the support of WIA and TWAIN standards, this application can work fully with almost all scanners, multifunction devices (so-called "harvesters"), network scanners and digital cameras. The program supports duplex and batch scanning of materials with separation of sheets.
Besides simple possibility of conversion of paper materials into electronic ones, the program can offer its users a whole set of additional functions, among which there are interesting and very useful tools. For example, the ability to extract and save text present in the images, to scan materials with text not in the form of a simple picture, but in text documents. It is also possible to import images stored on your computer's hard drive or directly from digital cameras into the program. Scanned or uploaded images, PaperScan allows you to edit as a true professional graphic editor! For example, resolution setting, quality selection, image cropping and transformation, image transformation into black and white or grayscale (grayscale), color adjustment (gamma, saturation, brightness, contrast) and much more. In addition, various filters (smoothing, blurring, etc.) and special effects (contour, sepia, scanlines, etc.) are available during processing. Also, PaperScan allows you to eliminate various defects that often occur during scanning. For example, align images horizontally and vertically, remove traces of punctured holes in paper documents, remove blank pages, etc.
The processed and fully finished materials can be printed and saved in various formats: JPEG, JPEG 2000, TIFF, PNG, PDF/A, WEBP, JBIG2. It also supports the creation of multi-page files in PDF, TIFF, JBIG2 formats.
