Process Explorer

Process Explorer is a program that shows the user the most detailed and accurate information about all processes and their components currently running in the operating system. The program also lets you change the priority of a process, suspend it or forcibly terminate it. The Process Explorer work window has two sub-windows. The top window constantly displays a list of currently active processes, including the names of accounts under which they are running. In turn, the information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode in which Process Explorer is currently located. If the application is in handle mode, the user will see the handles opened by the process selected in the top window. If Process Explorer is switched to DLL mode, all DLLs and memory-mapped files loaded by this process will be displayed to the user.

Process Explorer is also equipped with powerful search capabilities, which can quickly show the user which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded. These unique features make the program indispensable for tracking down problems with different versions of DLL files or handle leaks, as well as for understanding how both the Windows operating system and applications run by users work.
