Many Windows users could not get used to the new tile interface Metro, created by developers from Microsoft in new versions of the operating system. Not surprisingly, this version of the interface is initially more suitable for use on devices with a touch screen (such as tablets) and is quite inconvenient on desktop computers and laptops, where the majority of users are touchpads or mice. Start Menu 8 will help you to return to the interface of your operating system a more familiar classic version of the Start menu, similar to that used in the previous version of Windows 7.

After installation, the program automatically integrates into the operating system interface, replacing the standard Metro menu and then runs independently at each start of Windows. In the "Start Menu 8" menu, which Start Menu 8 offers, users will find a familiar list of installed programs, access to PC settings and basic services of the operating system. You can also quickly access your own Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos. Also, this Start menu displays a list of standard "Modern" applications installed in the system by default (Calendar, Calculator, Games, etc.) and an operating system FAQ. In addition, the menu includes a power button with functions such as hibernation, sleep, user change, reboot, safe reboot, shutdown and auto shutdown of the operating system.

"Start Menu 8 offers a seamless return to the classic Start menu interface, enhancing usability for non-touchscreen devices."

Start Menu 8 has a flexible system of settings that allows you to customize the Start Menu according to the individual wishes of each user. The program allows you to configure the number of installed applications displayed in the menu, the number of recently opened objects, as well as know how to highlight the recently installed programs and allows you to change the size of icons in the menu. In addition, there is a setting that allows you to display the most frequently used programs first in the list of installed software. Users will be able to change the default action of the power button to shutdown, reboot, sleep or hibernation. In addition, you can disable UAC control for applications launched from the Start menu. In addition, you can change the interface of the Start menu itself by selecting an icon from the collection, setting a non-standard style of the menu window, setting the font and background color, as well as setting up the objects displayed in the menu and much more.

Start Menu 8 is initially a free program, but the developers provide the opportunity to upgrade to the Pro version, which has enhanced functionality. Before purchasing a paid license, users can use the 30-day trial period to get acquainted with the new features of the commercial Pro-version.

First off, I love that there is a free version for all, but you have the option upgrading. I like that this product/software gives that option. of course the most integral part when using a desktop is the start/home button, as you use this button more than any other whether assessing files, tools, search, etc. I like this program allows you to customize your home button
