If you need to bring your video editing game up a notch, VEGAS Pro Edit is the tool for you. This software program focuses on three main benefits: speed, flexibility, and innovation. Its editing capabilities are second to none. With nested timelines, you can manage your projects and make sure you're meeting the workflow goals that you need to. You can toggle between timelines that link smaller projects to a master project or view your nested timelines as independent projects.

I've found Smart Split to be a particularly valuable feature. Using this feature, you can easily take out parts of a video clip. The edit essentially can't be detected by the human eye, giving you the ultimate ability to modify the results so you can make sure your edit is perfect to your liking. This has revolutionized the way I edit my videos because I've previously had to deal with jump cuts that were ugly, clunky, and very much a hassle to deal with.

The other feature I love about VEGAS Pro Edit is the menu system. This menu system lets you customize it so that you can easily find the tools you use most right at your fingertips. It makes your workspace much more accessible, organized, and free from clutter. Color grading is the other functionality that VEGAS Pro Edit specializes in. The color grading panel offers a unified workflow that allows you to import LUTs as quickly as you can export them.

You can also modify colors through color wheels and change up curves as well. VEGAS Pro Edit puts HDR at your fingertips, too, since you can quickly preview your videos in HDR mode through the preview window. If you don't want to do that, you can preview by hooking up an HDR monitor externally. The suite of special effects that this program offers is unparalleled as well.

My favorite special effects feature the slow-motion one. This program will make totally new video frames that weren't captured in your original camera film. Those newly created frames fill the gaps that might be present in between your actual frames. This will give you a very seamless slow-motion effect. Next, the audio effects here are amazing since I can synchronize a number of video files on different tracks.

Finally, VEGAS Pro Edit just really has enormous horsepower since it supports 8K files. That means I can work on extremely sophisticated, large projects in high resolution without worrying about whether VEGAS Pro Edit can handle the load.
