Virtual Serial Port ActiveX Control, a USB -> Serial/COM/RS-232/DB9/DB25 Port Emulation Tool for Windows

Virtual Serial Port ActiveX Control is a COM port emulation tool developed for Windows operating systems by Eltima Software. It allows the creation of virtual serial ports, recognized by Windows, for the use to send data via USB to legacy devices that still require serial input. No COM/RS-232/DB9/DB25 port required! To use, simply create a virtual port with the software, then watch as Windows detects a new serial port. Second, plug in your device using a USB -> serial/com/rs-232/db9/db25 cable. Lastly, if you need to monitor the speed or bit flow control of the data transfer, just open the software and modify it as needed. Once finished, simply delete the port with your software control, and you are good to go.

Features:

Allows standard use of Windows directory navigation and function, with additional tools for developers.
  • A flexible set of functions to allow control of the virtual port.
  • DTR/RTS flow control.
  • Allows the creation/deletion of virtual ports; no reboot required.
  • Transfer speed limited to an external device, not a local device.
  • Support for an extensive list of frameworks, listed below.

Supported applications:

Borland C++ Builder, Delphi, Delphi 3, Embarcadero XE3, Microsoft Visual C++ 5/6, Microsoft Visual Basic 5/6, Microsoft Virtual .Net 2000/2003/2005/2008/2010/2012
