WinPcap is a popular tool that works in a Microsoft Windows environment, allowing applications to capture and pass network packets around the protocol stack. It has additional features such as kernel-level packet filtering, a network statistics engine and support for remote packet capture.

WinPcap consists of a driver that extends the operating system to support low-level network access and a library that is directly used for low-level access. This library also contains a Windows version of the well-known libpcap, the Unix API.

Thanks to its feature set, WinPcap is the packet capture and filtering engine on which many commercial as well as free network tools, including protocol analyzers, network monitors, network intrusion detection systems, traffic generators and network testing tools are based. The tool contains all the necessary documentation, as well as various manuals.

- High efficiency: WinPcap implements all the optimization capabilities described in the literature (for example, kernel filtering and buffering, partial copy of the package, etc.). The utility greatly exceeds the speed of such programs;

- popularity: WinPcap is used as a network interface for many purposes: protocol analyzer, network monitoring, network activity detector, sniffer, etc;

- Tested and fine-tuned: the high popularity of the program helped significantly in testing the program. The utility has almost no errors and bugs;

- convenient and simple: WinPcap is distributed as a small executable file that can be run on any operating system. Run the executable file and the program will start performing its functions;

- Multiplatform: supports all Windows operating systems;

- Documentation: the program includes a detailed user manual with many hyperlinks. Also, the tutorial is included in the documentation, which will guide you through all the settings of the utility step by step.

WinPcap is used by a Windows environment for link-layer network access. Its highlight is packet capture. For those on a budget, WinPcap also has the ability to work with free network tools. WinPcap is also efficient in reducing disk network traffic. There is official documentation included in the purchase.
This product is great for people into computer networking protocols. I was able to capture packets seamlessly with the tool. Install only tool about 3 minutes or so to complete. Once the software was install it was easy to access and use. I would certainly use it again.
This software consists of a driver that extends the operating system to provide low-level network access and a library that is used to easily access low-level network layers
WinPcap is a great tool to have if you need to keep your device secure. A lot of networking applications can very easily access the data on your network with just some sockets, or with other operating system elements that are just as basic and standard. WinPcap gives you a little more security because it creates a data connection between your device and any networking analyzers or scanners you wish.
WINPCAP is an open-source software it can access in the low-level network to send the data in a packet format application programming interface of transfer files of format network from layer to layer and in the standard tool in windows environment allows to capture and transmit files information documents using protocol then helps to send receiving information from one to many from the network. It is useful software for transfer purposes.
WinPcap for Windows has long been a go-to tool for link-layer network connection in Windows systems as well as being industry standard ready. To add to this, it also has a bunch of features that make it the well-known tool that it is, including packet capture, a unique feature of this software and not to mention many filtering engines. This is a well-rounded tool for your network needs.
I recently had to sniff the network for traffic so I installed winpcap for windows. It a new ethernet packet capture library. Sometimes when working with computer, that's what I need. It comes in handy when analyzing traffic. It's a free open source software. All I had to do was installl it. The software does all the work. That's how it should be.
Needed something for link-layer network access in Windows. This software did the trick for that. Very straightforward to use, and pretty quick to download.
