360 Root

360 Root is a Chinese program from Qihoo 360 that tries to obtain root rights on an Android device connected to the computer via USB cable. Attention: the application interface is presented only in Chinese, but it is still not very difficult to work with it. The rooting runs almost automatically, so the user only needs to follow a few simple steps and confirm the prompts on the device.

Below is a short description of which buttons you need to press and how to prepare the device:

First, connect the portable device with the USB cable to your computer;

360 Root lets you gain root rights on an older Android device in a few clicks from a Windows PC over a USB connection.

enable debugging via USB. To do this, go to "Settings", find there the section "For developers" or "Developer options" (depending on the version of Android) and tick the box "USB debugging";

now run the program itself on your computer (the 360Root.exe file in the bin folder);

wait a while for 360 Root to detect the connected device;

if everything goes well, a pop-up window with Chinese text will be displayed. It shows a picture of the USB connection. In this window you should click the button in the lower right corner (the one on the right);

on the next screen, you will need to agree to install the device driver (the Windows driver prompt is in the system language, so there should be no problem);

now confirm the USB debugging permission on the connected device.

After the operation, the device will display the 360 Root mobile application. Do not delete it, because removing it also cancels the root access. Keep in mind that rooting may void the device warranty and, if something goes wrong, can leave the phone unable to start. The program targets older Android versions and has not been updated for years; its official site no longer responds.
