BitLord Torrent Downloader

BitLord is a torrent downloader for Windows and Mac, specifically designed to fit the needs of the day-to-day torrent user. While there are millions of different torrent files available on the internet, BitLord lets you look for them without leaving the program: its built-in BitLord Search shows top lists for the last 24 hours, week, month and year and filters results by category, including applications, games, movies and video, series, music and audio, and books. An adult filter and a "show risky" switch help you hide unwanted or questionable results before a download starts. The client is built on the libtorrent library, opens .torrent files and magnet links and can be set as the default program for both. You can queue several torrents, choose only the files you need inside a torrent, and limit download and upload speeds in the bandwidth settings. A download scheduler, proxy settings and an option that prevents the PC from going into standby while downloading or uploading are also available in the preferences.

BitLord offers a playlist generator so that you can organize media files based on what you might want to watch. Playlists are created in the sidebar next to the browser and the torrent list, which helps keep different TV shows and movies apart from the rest of your downloads. Media files can be played in the built-in player, and it is not necessary to wait until a download has finished, because playback can start while the file is still being downloaded. Subtitles are provided through OpenSubtitles, so a subtitle file in your language can be attached to a movie or show without searching for it separately on the web. Videos can also be cast to a Chromecast device on the same network, even while the download is still in progress. The interface is available in many languages, which can be selected in the general settings.

An Android version of BitLord is available on Google Play, so the same streaming and download features can also be used on a phone. The Windows client is free to use and is supported by advertising shown inside the program. BitLord is developed by House of Life, and its About window credits the libtorrent library and OpenSubtitles.
