Players get to choose between their desired faction, Hero or Villain. They are then allowed to create and fully customize their superhero character based upon thousands and thousands of unique customization options and combinations. Once players are done customizing and creating their character, they are thrown into the persistent online world of DC Universe Online, where there are thousands of hours of content and thousands of other players all interacting together at the same time in a shared online space. The locations featured within the online world are extremely varied and will instantly make any DC Universe fan feel at home.
The online world makes use of procedurally generated content to ensure there is always something fresh for players to do, whether they are cooperating to finish a core mission story or are competing against one another in high-intensity action combat. The missions inside the game can take thousands of hours to complete and feature the same attention to detail and level of writing a fan would expect to see within one of their favorite comics. DC Universe Online is also always being constantly updated with bug fixes and content updates to ensure that players will be able to play it and enjoy the game for years to come free of frustrations and technical errors.
