EditPlus is a text editor, HTML editor and code editor. EditPlus can replace the standard Windows Notepad and also provides many useful features for web designers and programmers. Built-in web browser allows you to view HTML documents after editing. Writing syntax highlighting is available for HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, Perl, C/C++, Java, JavaScript and VBScript programming languages. Unfortunately, the program is paid and has a pretty biting price tag. So if you're not ready to settle for a thirty-day trial period or buy licenses, try free alternatives (e.g. the Atom editor).

EditPlus offers built-in syntax highlighting for various programming languages, aiding developers in code writing and debugging.

- Syntax highlighting: EditPlus provides a powerful and customizable default syntax highlighting feature for HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, Perl, C/C++, Java, JavaScript and VBScript. You can also create your own syntax file;

- Interface: Built-in web browser for viewing HTML documents or Java applets. The browser has popular features, so you can use it for Internet surfing;

- FTP file upload functions to the FTP server or to edit files directly to our server;

- highlighting URLs or e-mail addresses in normal text documents and the ability to follow links by holding down the F8 key or by using the 'Ctrl + double-click combination;

- HTML toolbar. Allows you to enter HTML tags quickly and easily. It also contains useful features such as HTML Color Picker, Character Picker, Table Generator and Object Picker;

- choice of document. The document selection function provides quick access to all the document windows that are currently open. Much faster than selecting from the Windows menu or pressing Ctrl+Tab several times;

- an auto-replace. The function replaces short abbreviations with full lines. Perl and C/C++ languages are supported by default. You can create auto-replace files for other languages;

- document templates. Templates help you create new documents quickly.

EditPlus makes it super easy to write code and just about anything for that matter! I love that the software is so lightweight and simple to use. The web browser allows me to see what the result looks like without having to export anything and it is such a time saver. I plan on using this software as my new go to when it comes to writing code.

EditPlus is a great tool to have at my fingertips for my editing needs. As an attorney I always have a document that I'm working on that requires pretty heavy-duty editing, and EditPlus has been effective for everything from filling out precedent documents to creating forms for my clients. In the past I always used Notepad for editing, but EditPlus has so many enhanced functionalities and features that it's all I'll be using moving forward.
