Can work not only with DirectX or OpenGL games, but also with WickedGL, CosmoGL and 3dfxGL. Supports virtually any NVIDIA GeForce and ATI Radeon graphics cards and CPUs from Pentium 3 onwards.

Fraps allows for real-time video capture and benchmarking from video games, providing detailed performance metrics.

You can use Fraps in the following ways:

- to test programs - see how many frames per second you get (FPS numbers are displayed in the corner of the screen) You can customize Fraps for your tasks and save measurement statistics to disk, so you can use them for your own reviews and applications;

Fraps is a benchmarking software. It currently supports only Windows operating system. However, this tool is widely used by gamers.

Fraps can hold screen capture history. It has user management integration. It can be used as a good benchmarking tool for games. It supports a lot of extensions, such as screenshot saving.

Fraps can record videos at a very high quality. However, the video size becomes extremely big. Therefore, it can cause issues if the user's storage is extremely limited.

I’m not a very tech oriented person but I did find Fraps pretty straightforward to use. I mostly use Fraps for its screen capture features. When I need to record a video I’m watching or scrolling through comments to save for later, Fraps has been super helpful.
