GUIMiner

GUIMiner is a bitcoin miner front end with a convenient graphic shell, based on the poclbm miner and PyOpenCL. With its help you can quickly connect to the right pool and start mining cryptocurrency. The program supports GPU and CPU mining, and works with graphics adapters from both AMD (ATI) and NVIDIA. Several popular pools are set up out of the box. To connect to one of these, simply select it, enter the data from the account and select the mining device.

Each miner runs in its own tab, and GUIMiner shows the current hash rate and the number of accepted and stale or invalid shares for each one, which is useful for owners of several mining rigs. It is also possible to configure the parameters of cryptocurrency production on the current machine, but the choice of settings is rather small: the user can select the device, set CPU affinity and pass extra flags to the miner. Besides the built-in OpenCL miner, GUIMiner can launch CGMiner, a CUDA miner for NVIDIA cards, the Ufasoft CPU miner and other external miners.

Among the interesting things to note is the support of solo mode, in which GUIMiner does not connect to the pool but works with the Bitcoin client running as a server. However, the profitability of this mining method is extremely questionable. More useful and practical features include minimizing to the system tray with the status shown on hover, "remembering" login data between sessions and displaying each miner in a separate tab.

GUIMiner provides a user-friendly interface for bitcoin mining with share statistics, supporting both GPU and CPU mining methods.

At pools that support it, GUIMiner can also show the account balance and withdraw funds to a Bitcoin address directly from its interface. GUIMiner is free, open-source software released under the GPL-3.0 licence, and a separate fork, GUIMiner-scrypt, was made for scrypt-based coins. The program is no longer developed: the last release dates from December 2012, and mining Bitcoin on ordinary GPUs and CPUs is no longer profitable.
