HP Support Assistant is designed to keep the computers, laptops and printers of the respective manufacturer up and running. The program is designed for easy, fast and efficient troubleshooting. As a supplement, it is possible to obtain detailed information about your devices and the problems that have occurred. The welcome screen of the current version presents six groups of tools: Fixes & Diagnostics, Manage your HP devices, Exclusive offers, Guided Troubleshooting, Alerts relevant to you and a Health dashboard. Most of them are aimed at solving problems on your own, while the rest connect you with HP support in case of malfunctions that cannot be solved by the user.

The Fixes & Diagnostics group contains a library of quick repairs and diagnostic tests for common problems. From time to time, HP Support Assistant will give you alerts recommending you to download and install an update for a system driver or firmware, and updates can be installed automatically or manually. Manage your HP devices keeps track of all your HP PCs and printers in one place, and the Health dashboard shows real-time health information about them. Guided Troubleshooting gives instant help from the HP Virtual Agent, and it is also possible to contact an HP representative for support. The program is free, comes preinstalled on new HP computers and can be installed on PCs of other brands to reach support tools for HP printers. It requires Windows 10 version 1803 or later.
