HTC Home

HTC Home is a free weather and clock widget for the Windows desktop. It is modeled on the clock and weather widget of HTC smartphones. It contains a flip clock and a weather forecast with animation.

HTC Home looks very close to the original, and the animation is realistic. Weather data is collected from MSN and other online weather providers that you can select in the settings. With HTC Home, you can view the weather a few days ahead right on your desktop. The forecast is accompanied by animation and optional sound effects. For example, if it rains in your area, the widget shows animated rain clouds on your desktop. The sounds can be turned off in the settings if you prefer a silent widget. Several widget styles are available, including flip clocks and analog clocks. All this is accompanied by a large clock showing the time on your desktop. The clock uses the system time by default, and a different time zone, date format and 12- or 24-hour mode can be selected in the settings. In addition to the forecast, the widget can show high and low temperatures, the "feels like" temperature, wind speed and humidity. You choose how often HTC Home checks for program updates, and the widget can start automatically with Windows. If desired, you can change the widget size and transparency, or turn on the slideshow of images from a specified folder. HTC Home is free and open source, but it is no longer developed: the last version, 3.1, dates from 2015, and some of its weather providers no longer work.
