iZotope Ozone is not only a set of mastering plug-ins, but also a whole system for the preparation of musical material. It is used at the final stage of music production, when a finished mix is prepared for release. Its Master Assistant analyses a track and suggests a starting chain of processors that you can then adjust by hand.
Early versions of the complex consisted of eight different modules with a unique set of functions. Well received by critics, the Maximizer module is designed to raise the volume level without causing audible distortion. It helps to achieve competitive loudness and fullness of the sound. Those versions also had two Equalizer modules - Equalizer and Post Equalizer - that allow you to achieve the accuracy and color you want. In addition, you'll find tools such as a reverb module that adds depth and space to your composition, a Dither module, a Harmonic Exciter module that emulates tube and tape saturation, a multiband Dynamics module and a Stereo Imaging module.
Ozone 12 comes in Elements, Standard and Advanced editions; Advanced has 20 modules, including Clarity, Stabilizer, Match EQ, Stem EQ, Bass Control and Unlimiter, and runs in AAX, AU and VST3 hosts. Older versions such as Ozone 7 also include a standalone app. Ozone is paid, with a free 10-day trial.
Izotope Ozone offers professional audio processing tools for mastering music, adding loudness, clarity and depth for a professionally processed composition.
