NTlite is a smart Windows configuration tool provided by an independent developer. The tool is aimed at IT professionals and enthusiasts. It is designed for optimization of the Microsoft Windows operating system setup process, enabling automated Windows setup, update and driver integration and custom component install settings. This speeds up deployment to machines and allows for a smaller, simplified installation that takes up less disk space. Furthermore, it also allows in-place editing, live editing of existing windows installations without having to re-install.

NTlite can be downloaded for free, but there is the option to purchase a license. A home license is €30, a professional license €90, and a business license €250.

The paid home license adds some additional features such as the live editing of an installation and the ability to remove windows components in full. The professional license includes all of the home features plus allows commercial use for a single user so would be well suited to small businesses. The business version includes all of the home features plus a portable license - the ability to use the tool with multiple users. This would be well suited for a slightly larger business.

The software is well-rated amongst enthusiasts and professionals at small businesses, but larger businesses/enterprises tend to use other solutions
