Serviio is an awesome program that allows the user to stream media files such as music, video, and images to multiple devices connected to your network. This includes devices such as televisions, Blu-ray players, game consoles and even cell phones. The best thing about the program is that it allows you to profile your devices so you don't have to go through special setups for unique devices. Since the program is Java-based, it runs on most platforms such as Windows, Linux or Mac.
Features:
Average users will enjoy Serviio because it allows so much versatility in the home. I think we've all has instances where we are watching something on our mobile devices and wished we could put it on the big screen. Well, now you can while keeping the same high-quality picture. If you are watching an HD video on your phone, you can stream that video to your smart television while keeping the HD quality. In most other scenarios the video quality will suffer when streaming to other devices. For example, something that originally started in 1080p will drop to 720 or lower resolutions. Which pretty much ruins the viewing experience and making you wonder why you tried streaming in the first place. Serviio is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. Chances are you need to worry about watching a long and drawn out tutorial since the program is fairly simple. While you can use the software for free, there is a paid version for $25. The $25 gives you access to even more options and features that the free version doesn't come with. Keep in mind there is a bit of a process of updating the license but all that information is available on the official website. All in all, Serviio is worth a download. Its incredibly useful and fun to use.
