SSD-Z is a program for gathering detailed technical information about SSDs. The program was named after a template of well-known applications for collecting data about the CPU-Z and GPU-Z central processing unit and graphics card. But the developer of SSD-Z is different. However, the program still works quickly and efficiently, and its interface is very similar to that of the above mentioned solutions.
When the application is launched, the user will see a window with several tabs. Switch between them to find out more about the drive installed in the system. SSD-Z displays the drive's model, manufacturer, serial number, firmware number, connection interface, capacity, footprint, temperature (only for some models), number of recorded data for the entire time, date of first start, sector size, supported technology, NAND, S.M.A.R.T. data and other information. If you have more than one SSD installed in your system, you can switch to the desired SSD from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the Device section. The process of data collection is almost instantaneous, even on the weakest systems. SSD-Z works with most modern SSD models, and support for "fresh" SSDs is added along with regular software updates. You can use it for free. Available in both regular and portable (no need to install) versions of SSD-Z.
One of the drawbacks users complain about is that SSD-Z is unable to "predict" the remaining operating time of the drive. However, applications which can make similar forecasts, not always appear to be right as do not consider external factors.
"SSD-Z efficiently gathers comprehensive technical details about SSDs which aids in understanding drive's model, capacity, firmware number and various other crucial information."
- displays detailed information about the SSDs installed in the system;
- contains a section with a variety of benchmarks;
- collects information in fraction of a second;
- provides information about S.M.A.R.T. data;
- are distributed as regular and portable versions.
