Ulead Video Studio Plus

Ulead VideoStudio Plus helps people create their own home movies from camcorders, capture cards, video files and photos. It features a step-by-step workflow (Capture, Edit, Effect, Overlay, Title, Audio and Share) which takes you through the whole process. And the Movie Wizard and DV-to-DVD Wizard make it easy for the beginner to create finished movies.

It allows you to record back to DV tape, author DVDs, and even publish your movie on the web or export it for portable players such as iPod video and Sony PSP. It will also allow you to create slideshows from your pictures, complete with background music, or you can add your own voice narration.

It has a large tool kit for editing both movies and pictures. You can enhance images, apply pan and zoom to static images and place clips on overlay tracks. For each DVD project, you can create menus by selecting a pre-made template or you can design your own, including motion menus and automatic chapter detection. Transitions include effects such as fade in and fade out, picture dissolves to the next picture and many more.

This software is easy to use and can be mastered by anyone with a moderate amount of experience.

You can save each project and continue working on it whenever you choose. It lets you add text to both pictures and video. It has a good selection of fonts, sizes, and colors that you can use to caption your image. You can also trim clips and insert short clips or pictures at any point on the storyboard or timeline.

This is an all-inclusive program that can be used by beginners, while its timeline, overlay tracks and 5.1 surround sound audio mixing give advanced users more control. The Plus edition adds the DVD authoring module to the editor, and version 10 Plus also introduced HD DVD authoring. It is also advanced enough to allow the creator to produce professional-looking movies for other projects.

Ulead VideoStudio is no longer sold under the Ulead name: after Corel acquired Ulead in 2006, the product continued as Corel VideoStudio, which is still developed for Windows.
