Report a Problem

View and Rename PDF is a small utility for a common office chore: renaming many PDF files, such as scanned letters, invoices or statements, whose automatic names say nothing about their content. The program shows the list of files next to a built-in viewer, so each document can be read and given a meaningful name without switching programs.

Gives meaningful names to piles of scanned PDFs without opening each one separately.

After a new name is typed and Enter is pressed, the file is renamed and the next one opens automatically, which makes it quick to work through a whole folder. Adobe Acrobat is not required for viewing. The program only renames files and cannot edit PDF content, and, as the developer notes, security software sometimes flags it wrongly.

Features:

  • Built-in PDF viewer
  • File list with a preview pane
  • Rename and move to the next file with Enter
  • No Adobe Acrobat required
  • Works through whole folders
