The vXdownloader is a video downloader by Enrique Puertas, the original author of VDownloader, and it was released as freeware in 2009. Unlike general-purpose downloaders, it is aimed at adult video-sharing websites, and it has its very own search bar within the program, so you can search several sites at once and download the results. You can also paste a video URL and click Download, and the program can monitor the clipboard for links. Media can be saved as MPEG, 3GP, AVI, and MP3, and a default AVI codec can be selected. You can set how many videos are downloaded at the same time, which saves time with long lists. The interface has Download, Search, and Browser sections and is translated into several languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, and Czech. According to its readme, the program is installed by unzipping all files to a folder of your choice and starting vXdownloader.exe. This is a Windows program, and it does not work on Apple operating systems. It is no longer developed, so some of the supported sites may have changed. An HTTP proxy with a user name and password can be set in the connection settings, and the program can check for updates on a schedule. The About box lists version 0.90 and a Freeware license, together with the names of the translators.
