Nero Video combines video organization, editing, and disc burning in one package for home users.

Nero Video is a complete package tool that works together with Nero MediaHome, a media library for organizing your video files, music, and photos on your PC. Finished projects can be burnt onto a DVD or Blu-ray disc with custom menus and chapters.

Nero Video lets you drag clips straight from Windows Explorer, and Nero MediaHome can show your iTunes playlists, allowing you to sort and find your files fast. With its wide range of supported formats, one can even open and edit projects created in Windows Live Movie Maker. Nero Video has powerful multi-track editing that uses keyframe animation and gives you full control.

The video editing process is effortless with two modes, Express and Advanced, giving you the ability to add a wide range of video, transitions, and text effects for excellent results. Slideshows can also be created with this software for you to play back on your PC or a connected TV.

The current release, Nero Video 2026, runs on Windows 8, 10 and 11 and offers 1-Click Video Story, more than 1,000 templates and effects, HD, 4K and 8K editing, motion tracking, chroma key and picture-in-picture. The software supports drag and drop so that you can add files in seconds. 

A slight downside to Nero Video is that it is resource-intensive, especially with 4K footage, but it is still a capable solution for video editing and disc authoring. Nero Video offers support for a wide range of formats and contains all the necessary features to create good-quality videos and slideshows. It is a paid program, sold on its own or in the Nero Platinum Suite, with a trial version.
