Webcam Surveyor is a webcam management utility. The program has a built-in motion detection mechanism, which allows you to use it for video surveillance of your home. If your webcam detects motion in the frame in your absence, Webcam Surveyor will immediately send you an email with the attached photos. In addition to e-mails, this program can upload the series of snapshots to FTP, or simply save them to a hard drive. Webcam Surveyor can save images from a webcam at intervals ranging from 1 second to 59 hours. The program is able to record video and audio, supports a variety of video codecs (MJPEG, DIVX, MPEG-4, etc.), allows you to adjust the resolution, compression and sensitivity to motion. Webcam Surveyor supports autorun, is able to operate in invisible mode, and allows you to manage webcam settings (zoom, focus, panning, etc.).

Webcam Surveyor offers the benefit of enhanced home security with its built-in motion detection and immediate alert system.

I recently tried Webcam Surveyor software to monitor my home while I was away. I found it to be easy to set up and use. The video quality was quite good with no lags or delays. The software also has a range of features such as motion detection and time lapse recording. I liked that I could easily adjust the settings for the recording and the webcam itself. Webcam Surveyor is a great too for monitoring and recording videos from a webcam, however I find that it someetimes takes a long time to load and can be a bit unresponsive at times.
