This is a free toolkit for Android phones that runs on a Windows PC. It was developed by WindyCityRockr and published on the XDA Developers forum. It is written in C# and requires the .NET Framework 4.5, so it runs on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 but not on Windows XP. This program combines multiple Android system management operations into one easy program: it is a compilation of ADB and Fastboot commands together with online resources, so it needs an internet connection to download the files for your device. The program makes unlocking the bootloader, flashing a custom recovery such as TWRP and rooting Android devices easy and understandable. It makes these tasks very accessible, as multiple tasks can be performed from this one interface. The program runs on a Windows PC, and the Android device is connected to the PC through a USB cable. After launch you choose your device brand and model from a list; version 3.1 supports more than 170 devices from brands such as Alcatel, Asus, Google, HTC, LG and Samsung. The Setup tab guides you through three numbered steps: unlock the bootloader, flash a recovery and gain root. For HTC devices the toolkit can get the identifier token needed for the bootloader unlock code.

Features:

It combines bootloader unlocking, recovery flashing, rooting and other ADB and Fastboot tasks in one interface connected over USB.

Some of the features included in this program are as follows:

  • A bootloader unlock and relock
  • Rooting
  • Flash Recovery
  • Flash Kernels
  • Push Files, install apps and sideload ZIP files

Overall, this toolkit is easily accessible and can connect to many devices, allowing for the easy management and control of an Android system. This one program can perform many tasks, like rooting, unlocking and flashing a custom recovery, which makes control of an Android device easy and simple. Keep in mind that unlocking the bootloader usually wipes the device and may void the warranty, so back up your data first. The device list covers phones of its time, so many recent Android models are not supported.
