Bentley View V8i SELECTseries 4

Bentley View V8i SELECTseries 4 is a free viewing, measuring and printing application from Bentley Systems for DGN, DWG and DXF files and many other formats. Bentley View V8i SELECTseries 4 reads, displays, measures and prints 2D drawings and 3D models and provides a comprehensive suite of viewing and printing tools. It has since been succeeded by newer free releases such as Bentley View CONNECT Edition and Bentley View 2023.

• View and print 2D and 3D CAD and raster image formats, with support for more than 50 file formats including DGN, DWG, DXF and common raster images.

Bentley View V8i SELECTseries 4 lets anyone view, measure and print DGN and DWG drawings and models for free, without the authoring software.

• The viewer cannot create or edit PDF documents or change drawings; it is meant for viewing, measuring and printing.

• Measure distances and areas in 3D models and 2D drawings with precise measurement tools.

• Print drawings to scale with full fidelity, with control over the print area, scale and paper size.

• Search for text and objects in a drawing and view element attributes and properties.

• Navigate drawings with zoom, pan, rotate and fit view tools, and control what is shown with display sets.

• Assign keyboard shortcuts and arrange docked and undocked toolboxes to adapt the workspace.

• The 08.11.09.829 release added Windows 10 support; on older PCs, a tool such as the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor can help check hardware compatibility.

• Runs on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions, as well as on Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012.

• Support for CONNECTED Users and CONNECTED Projects links the viewer to a Bentley account and project.

• View Bentley civil terrain models, which were added in the SELECTseries 4 update.

• Opens DGN files created in MicroStation and other Bentley V8i applications with the same fidelity as the authoring software.

• Stream point clouds for viewing large laser-scan datasets, another addition of the SELECTseries 4 update.

• Manage raster attachments and pick a geographic coordinate system for georeferenced drawings.

• Read AutoCAD drawings through Autodesk RealDWG 2016, so DWG and DXF files open without file translation.

• Support for Bentley i-models, allowing users to view 3D models and drawings together with their embedded properties.
