This software takes various types of large video files, even larger than 2GB, and allows one to edit them. These edits include cutting, splitting, or trimming the video into several segments by either the size of the resulting video file or the length of time desired. It allows any format to be split into any other format as well while keeping the original quality.

Features:

  • The splitting does not require re-encoding. This technique seems to allow them to split 10 times faster than by having to encode.
  • When splitting from one format, the result may be saved into a different format, not just the original video file's format.
  • Users may split any part of the original video file. This allows a user to freely manipulate the original video. But, if the user desires to have multiple videos of equal size, this is also easily done with the Boilsoft Video Splitter software.
  • It utilized user-friendly features such as drag-and-drop to intuitively edit video. Also, all needed encoder is built in.

Boilsoft Video Splitter, formerly called AVI / MPEG / RM / WMV Splitter, for Windows 7 or later costs $34.95 and may be downloaded from Boilsoft's website. It boasts the ability to manipulate AVI, MPEG, VOB, MP4, 3GP, RM, ASF/WMV/WMA, MKV, MP3, and FLV video formats; a formidable array of capabilities. What is also nice is that Boilsoft offers tutorials for using their cutter for AVI, MP4, DivX, AC3, OGG, MPEG4, RM, 3GP, Xvid, 3G2, OGM, ASF, MPEG, DVD, FLV, M4A, WMV, VOB, VCD, MOV, MKV, WMA, RMVB, SVCD, WAV, and MPEG2 formats. These tutorials are very simple and to the point, while also providing information about what each of the file times means.
