Material-Z for Windows is a sophisticated graphic design editing software that works specifically with PBR materials. With Physically Based Rendering, an accurate simulation of light and surfaces can be achieved in your project. Creating a realistic PBR texture can pose a challenge, especially when attempting to derive the texture from high-resolution photography. With Material-Z, you have access to a plethora of generation options. These repeating options include brick, circular, and decor tiling, as well as herringbone repeating patterns. Options for seamless patterns are available and can be tweaked to preference. This program was based on the Disney Principled Material System, which is frequently used in the video game and animation industry. It is favored for its designer-friendly usage and needs comparatively minimal technical know-how.

Texture maps can be fine-tuned with several controls that decide the roughness, occlusion, and metallic facets of the subject. With the mask editor, they can be further enhanced by hand. The environment in which the textures will be rendered can also be controlled, offering features such as a rotatable skybox, lighting intensity adjustments, and free orbit control. An optional HDR camera is available. A Paint module is also available for direct editing.

Products can be exported in Single Image Maps in PNG or JPEG form. Other export features include .scn (Scenekit), .dae (Collada), and .c3dmat (Cheetah3D).

Material-Z boasts access to multiple large documents at once, full-screen function, sample projects, and a customizable toolbar for your individual needs. 3D Quicklook is supported. Attributes can be set for each material property, with four transparency modes available. The in-software material inspector is resizable and can be collapsed to avoid a crowded workspace.

Generates seamless, repeating textures that can be augmented.
Features:

  • Ray-Tracer option for rendered products
  • Preview textures before simulating
  • Access to a cloud-based library
  • Visual node editor and shape injection interface.
  • Available in 8 languages

This software is compatible with most Windows Operating Systems, including:

Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10.

Available languages include English, Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, and Japanese.
