Microsoft PowerPoint 2016

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program designed for a very wide audience and is therefore as easy to use as possible. PowerPoint 2016 is part of the Microsoft Office 2016 suite and was also sold as a standalone application and offered through Office 365 subscriptions.

PowerPoint offers a wide set of functions: the program allows you to add an unlimited number of slides, transitions, music and animations to your presentation. The slides themselves can contain text and graphics, videos, hyperlinks and action buttons. Generally speaking, in the latest versions of the program there appeared quite a lot of tools for setting up the slide structure in it. The user can work with slide masters, layouts and placeholders for titles, headers, footers, etc. There are tools to create charts, SmartArt diagrams and tables, as well as insert online pictures found through Bing search.

Switching of presentation slides can be done automatically (according to rehearsed timings) or manually - by mouse click. The user has Presenter View with speaker notes, a timer, rehearsal of timings and a preview function. All of this helps to deliver the presentation in the allotted time.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 provides users with an easy-to-use platform to create comprehensive, multimedia presentations.

When adding graphical elements to a project, Microsoft PowerPoint allows you to adjust the color, brightness and contrast of pictures, add frames and make all kinds of changes to the images using the tools from the "Format" and "Draw" tabs. New versions of PowerPoint use built-in codecs to play common multimedia formats (audio, video), so that in most cases no additional software is required. Another benefit is support for saving presentations to the OneDrive cloud service and co-authoring them with other people. Extended support for Office 2016 ended in October 2025, so the program no longer receives security updates.

Those who are not going to create their own presentations, but only want to see ready-made ones, did not have to download and install the full version of the program. They could use the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer tool, which Microsoft retired in 2018; today the free PowerPoint for the web serves this purpose.
