There's nothing more thrilling than diving into the strategic and intricate world of chess. With the "Multiplayer Chess" software, you can relive this timeless classic in gaming history, while taking on players from all around the globe. Your aim is to maneuver your pieces in such a way as to capture your opponent's king.
At the start of each game, you are presented with a 64-square chessboard, along with a set of pieces (a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, and eight pawns). You and your opponent take turns to make your moves. Keep in mind that you need to complete your moves within the time limit indicated by the timer on the left of the screen, or otherwise you lose.
Features:Each type of piece has specific moves; the pawns can only move forward and can choose to move 1 or 2 squares forward in their first move, provided both squares are free. After that, they can move vertically by one square onto an empty square or diagonally to capture an opponent's piece. Rooks can move and capture horizontally or vertically over any distance. Knights can move and capture by moving 2 squares horizontally and then 1 vertically or vice versa, and they can jump over other pieces. Bishops can move and capture diagonally over any distance. The queen can move and capture horizontally, vertically or diagonally over any distance. The king can move and capture one square in any direction.
Play chess in real-time with opponents worldwide enhancing strategic thinking and planning skills.
If one of your pawns manages to reach the farthest side of your opponent's board, it will be "promoted" and turned into a queen, rook, bishop, or knight of your choice. Thus, the gaming experience is as dynamic as it is strategic, calling for both quick thinking and long-term planning.
