Readiris Pro is a scanning and text recognition software. The application has a user-friendly interface and allows you to scan, recognize and save a document in the desired format with just one click of the mouse. Recognized texts can be saved in Word, Excel, PDF, OpenOffice and XPS formats. It supports more than a hundred different languages, as well as the most popular image formats (JPEG, TIFF, BMP, JPEG-2000) and DjVu format. The use of original compression technology allows to receive PDF and XPS documents, which "weigh" 200 times less than the original scans. Additional scanned image processing functions are supported. Tables and handwritten text can be recognized.

I wasn't very satisfied with user friendliness during the setup. After returning to the settings, I went through the correct setup to get scanned images to go directly to MS Word as editable text with extremely little typos and other scan problems. It actually outperforms the free OCR software included with my scanner. It was the nicest one I could find for scanning and transferring editable text from a page with a colored backdrop and even some with embedded images directly to MS Word. For the vast majority of Word or MS Office users, I would suggest it as a document management tool.

I've been using Readiris Pro for a few months now and I'm impressed with the features it offers. The OCR engine is extremely accurate and fast, and the interface is easy to use. I'm especially fond of the batch processing capability, which saves me a lot of time. The only downside I've noticed is that it can be a bit slow if you have a lot of documents to process.
