Topaz ReMask is a program that uses very precise algorithms for selecting individual objects in an image. With its help you can separate the necessary element from the general background and make the background itself transparent. In general, the "independent" application Topaz ReMask has become relatively recent. Initially it was available only as a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, by the way, the possibility of integration is still available today. By installing Topaz ReMask as a plugin, you will be able to select an object in a separate layer and transfer it to other images.
Three main brushes are used to select an object: green, blue and red. Green "manually" indicates the object to be selected, red - the background to be removed from the image, but blue is responsible for working with the "complex" contours of the object, which can not be selected "by hand". It is the blue brush that uses the previously mentioned "smart" algorithms, perfectly separating the desired areas from the background. Topaz ReMask is perfect for the release of hair, tearing edges, areas with sharp color changes, and so on. The program independently determines the optimal parameters of selection, but if desired, the user can move the sliders responsible for the intensity of the mask, the degree of displacement and stiffness of the edges.
In later versions of Adobe Phitoshop, the tool can automatically create a new layer at each selection. Both the plugin and the "standalone" application can operate in 8-bit and 16-bit modes. The price for both versions, and Topaz ReMask is a paid solution, is also absolutely identical.
- the ability to separate objects with complex contours from the background;
- work as a standalone application and as a plugin for Adobe Photoshop;
- ability to move an object to a new layer (in Photoshop);
- support for 8-bit and 16-bit modes;
- the ability to adjust the mask intensity, edge stiffness and degree of shear.
