WinToBootic

WiNToBootic is a program which uses ISO images, CD/DVD discs or folders with Windows setup files in order to create usable Windows boot drives on USB flash or hard drives. It is focused on the Windows NT 6.x family (Vista, 7, 8, Server 2008 and Server 2012), which covers most users of those systems. Use it on NTFS drives to format them and create new bootable drives for installing Windows fresh, repairing a damaged system, upgrading an old desktop or laptop, or even setting up a brand new computer.

WiNToBootic is a lightweight tool in the boot drive maker segment, but don't discount it for its small file size. The program works with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows installation media; 32-bit editions of Windows can use only about 4 GB of RAM, so 64-bit media is the usual choice for modern computers. Weighing in at under 1 MB in size, this program does not require an installation. If you have the .NET Framework 2.0 on your system, you can simply download WiNToBootic, unpack the archive into its own folder and run it. Within a few clicks you can create a drive for installing Windows Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1 on any system that can boot from USB, and then simply delete WiNToBootic. Beware, though: the program formats the target drive (a Quick Format option is available), so copy any files from the USB drive first; you can check the drive and its file system in Windows Explorer before you start. WiNToBootic is freeware by Mr Jack; version 2.2.1 from 2014 is the last release, and the original website is no longer online.
