Advanced Virtual COM Port is the first application of its kind that includes both local and network virtual COM port functions. It can share your real COM ports or it can create virtual COM ports and connect them with a virtual null-modem cable locally or through a TCP/IP network or the Internet. You can connect to a shared port and use it just like it is on your machine. Virtual serial ports created by the program look and work the same way as real ones look and work.

The main benefit of using Advanced Virtual COM Port is its ability to create and share virtual COM ports both locally and over a network.

- Virtual COM Ports appear to the system and applications like real ones - Virtual COM Ports work like real ones - Hot Virtual COM Port creation and removal (no need to reboot the computer) - Once created, Virtual COM Ports persist in the system until you remove them - No need to have physical serial ports (except for the physical ports sharing function) - Higher data transfer rate than on hardware serial ports - Up to 255 Virtual COM Ports can be created - PnP, WMI support - Flow control emulation supported - Easy port state monitoring - Ability to temporarily remove all ports without losing their configuration

PROS
Enables serial communication over Ethernet or Internet easily.
Supports automatic connection recovery after a network failure.
Allows creating unlimited number of virtual serial ports.

CONS
Requires technical knowledge for setting up and maintaining.
Subscription-based, leading to ongoing costs.
No macOS or Linux support, only Windows.

The virtual COM port seems like a really innovative and cool idea. It eliminates the need for multiple ports since it can create virtual ones through a number of different ways. The only thing I think would be a problem is since they can be created via TCP/IP, that makes a persons computer susceptible too hacking. I think, I am no tech expert, that gives access to the hard drive and other essential files of a computer. Beyond that I think it is a great idea.

Virtual COM Port (VCP) is a software-based solution that allows computers to interact with serial devices over a virtual COM port. It creates a virtual serial port in the operating system, which is then linked to a physical serial port on a device. This allows users to connect to, configure, and communicate with serial devices as if they were connected directly to the computer. VCP is typically used in industrial automation, medical, automotive, and other areas where there is a need to connect to a serial device.

Advanced Virtual COM Port software is easy to install and use. It provides reliable connections between two or more devices. The software allows for easy port management and even allows for communication between two PCs. The software is also very cost effective. The customer service team is also excellent and always willing to help. It also does not require much technical knowledge, which is great for beginners. I find the software to be very stable, and it rarely crashes. The software also offers good data protection.
