Better DS3

Better DS3 is an offline configuration tool for the MotioninJoy driver that allows a user to use their PlayStation 3 controller on their computer. It replaces the original DS3 Tool, which loads its interface and ads from the internet, with a clean local interface.

Better DS3 configures DualShock 3 controllers offline and without ads, unlike the original MotioninJoy DS3 Tool.

Better DS3 allows the user to use a console controller as a PC controller without the hassles of trying to make a controller work with a system it was not designed for. Better DS3 allows for pressure sensitivity, allows the user to set vibration level, allows for Bluetooth pairing and USB plugin, and allows for the user to set all of these variables and save them. Profiles can be created in DirectInput, XInput, Keyboard/Mouse and PCSX2 modes. This means that each time the user plugs in the same controller or a different controller, they do not have to redo all of the settings they like, instead, they can simply plug in/connect and play. Better DS3 also does not go online, which means that there should not be ads popping up while the user is in game, instead the tool is local and does not communicate with anything online. Better DS3 is a lighter alternative to the MotionJoy DS3 Tool, but it still needs the MotionJoy driver to be installed first. The BetterDS3 window also shows the battery state of connected controllers, can power off Bluetooth controllers after a set number of idle minutes and can minimize to the system tray. The program is freeware by Phil Ciebiera, needs no installation and is no longer developed.
