EMS SQL Manager is a comprehensive tool designed to meet the needs of users who require maintenance organization and administration of InterBase and Firebird databases. It comes with a user interface that allows for easy database connection by specifying host name, SQL role, protocol and selecting the desired database. The application supports connections, making it efficient to manage databases through a convenient window where registered databases can be grouped by host name. Although primarily aimed at database administrators, it offers Unicode data manipulation tools that allow for filtering, grouping, copying, pasting selected rows and exporting data to SQL scripts. One noteworthy feature is the ability to construct queries without knowledge of SQL. However modifying queries does require understanding their functionality. To simplify management to database objects the application includes a Report Wizard that enables the creation of reports accessible directly from the Database Explorer tree. Additionally there are background wizards for data export/import tasks such as exporting queries, triggers and procedures to HTML PDF CSV or XML formats or importing data from Excel or Access files. Moreover the application provides text editing tools specifically designed for query building as well as options for validating databases rebuilding them and recomputing indices.
