GoldWave

GoldWave is a professional digital audio editor that covers everything from simple sound recording and editing to complex sound processing, restoration, enhancement and conversion. GoldWave Editor is easy to learn and use, and very flexible to set up. Almost every function can be assigned its own hotkey.

The program allows you to record from any source available on the computer - from a microphone, line input, streaming audio or system sound (loopback), with a recording timer and level-activated recording. Sound editing is performed by such basic commands as cut, copy, paste, trim, replace and overwrite. GoldWave has more than 40 sound effects and also allows you to adjust high or low frequencies with the equalizer, and even equalize the volume level with the Auto Gain function.

A useful feature of this editor is the ability to remaster and restore sound from old vinyl records or tapes. Noise reduction and Pop/Click filters can be used to remove clicks, buzz, crackle and hiss from the sound. You can analyze sound with spectrograms, level meters, waveforms and other real-time visuals.

GoldWave offers comprehensive sound editing tools that are easy to use and flexible, with strong sound restoration capabilities.

The editor is equipped with a collection of other useful tools. For example, the CD Reader copies tracks directly from an audio CD, File Merger joins several files into one, the Expression Evaluator generates your own sounds, and Batch Processing converts whole folders of files in a few clicks. All major audio formats are supported, including iTunes, m4a, wav, wma, mp3, ogg, aiff, au, vox, and FLAC. GoldWave is shareware: the fully functional evaluation version is unlocked with a one-year or lifetime licence.
