SopCast

SopCast is a peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming system that allows you to watch video and listen to radio over the Internet. The principle of operation of the system is similar to that of BitTorrent technology, where content is transferred in a decentralized manner. While you are watching a broadcast or listening to radio from the Internet, you are simultaneously sharing this material with other viewers. In addition to watching TV channels and listening to the radio, you can also create your own broadcasting channels with SopCast. You don't need a powerful server or a lot of bandwidth to do this, because the viewers share the load. Channels are opened with sop:// addresses, and local files in formats such as WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB and MP3 can be broadcast as well.

When you start the program and log in (anonymous login is possible), you will see a list of available channels on a special tab. In addition, you can transfer the video playback to your favorite player, such as VLC, KMplayer or any other player, and record a broadcast to your hard drive. Note that SopCast is no longer developed: the last version, 4.2.0, was released in 2016, the official website is offline, and many channel lists found on the Internet no longer work.
